Birthday Month Check in

So for folks that may not know Me, or may have met Me or gotten to know Me post pandemic (and I don’t mean that in the “the pandemic is over” way, I mean it in the “world after covid hit” way)

You might not know that traditionally, in March I do a tour for My birthday, of multiple birthday parties in multiple cities and states.

The past tours have included goth clubs, gentlemen’s clubs and conventions, burlesque shows and even some house parties.

Back like back back in the day I used to throw “Pajama Jammy Jam” which was a travelling house party  in Berkshire County.  Those parties are legendary here.

It was vinyl records and all old skool hip hop all night long.  Everyone wore pajamas, and you were only allowed to drink: 40’s, Boone’s Farm Wine or E&J. (All deadly combinations)

The parties were known to get wild, I used to even make photocopied flyers and do photoshoots for them.

I will likely make a full Pajama Jammy Jam post one day, maybe when I write  a book….

ANyway, over the years the birthday March tour has  evolved to making sure I booked some feature dancing gigs in clubs in New England or NYC and also usually did one or two burlesque performances or sometimes hosted events at nightclubs.  One time I even hosted a sideshow performance and some punk bands.

It’s always been an experience, that’s for sure, and generally something that goes on for weeks and weeks.

When covid hit, that all changed of course.  Unlike many and probably most people in this country, I have not “moved on”  I do not go to indoor events, throw parties, host clubs or strip anymore.  I don’t go really anywhere unmasked and I do alot of covid prevention.

I limit meetings with folks, particularly indoors.  I mask, I am vaccinated and fully boosted.  I run an air filter in the photo studio when working one on one with folks, I use fans and open windows for air flow. In other words, I do wtf I can.

I am immuno compromised and disabled, so I really can’t fuck around with this stuff.

Because of that, birthdays have looked alot different for Me since then.

I’ve mostly stayed home, or gone out to a museum masked, or just ordered in a really nice dinner and taken the day off work.

This year:

I started the month off by doing a gallery show of My modelling!  I have been doing pop up one day photography showings, but of My photography featuring other models.

So it was nice to make it about ME!  (Full blog about that along with photos, coming soon)

On My actual Bday (March 5th btw)

I shot for a billboard campaign!  A harm reduction agency, is doing a county wide billboard campaign about carrying Narcan.  So, I went and got photographed for it, and so did My wife Brook Rain.

So be on the lookout for the both of us appearing in large print sometime soon in Berkshire County!

After that I basically….went home?

I had really bad cramps and ended up just feeling nauseous then getting My period and not even ordering a nice dinner.

To make up for that, I  had pre planned some time to go to NJ to see My father  when he was visiting there.

I have not done ANY travelling so, it was a big deal.

It felt like so much work to prepare for.

Doing a bunch of work at the office so that I’d be  able to take time off…arranging dog sitters, house/cat sitter, preparing food to bring, trip food snacks, packing up vitamins and medications, cleaning the house and leaving some meals for My house sitter.

It was exhausting.

We hit the road, and managed to get there.  Arrived to the hotel and set up the air filter!  And was greeted with such a lovely spread by My father:

A gorgeous chef salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing, some lovely Italian cheeses, olives, pita chips and hummus, water, shrimp cocktail, tortellini soup and some home baked breads and shortbread cookies, and an array of teas.

Oh and chocolates.

And of course, the GOOD toilet paper hahah.

I mean…wow.

My father is a chef and was doing some special events at the restaurant he is head chef of, so that’s where he’s getting most of this stuff.

We did alot of hanging out, driving around trying to find places we could smoke pot, and eating

So much eating.

We went shopping at Barnes and Noble which is  really big there and multiple floors and has a huge manga section that was having a 50% off sale so My wife bought like 9 books.

I went shopping at Burlington Coat Factory and got 2 new purses, and a lil cutting board for  the studio because I’ve been needing one.  AND I got the  cutest lil velvet  burgundy boots.  Of course obviously candy on the way out when you’re in those long ass lines that feel like cattle moving forward through a pen.

We  got takeout food from My father’s restaurant, some truly epic meals including:

Really fresh swordfish that was caught in NJ just a day before we got to eat it.  Swordfish puttanesca  with risotto, and broccoli rabe. Fitting that I’d get the Lady of the Night fish eh?  Don’t know the history of this sauce?  Here’s a good lil article about it: https://www.thrillist.com/eat/nation/the-sordid-story-of-puttanesca-the-prostitute-pasta-sauce

Annyways, lemme tell you about some more of the food we got:

My wife got clam stuffed squids that were soft as butter.  We got eggplant meatballs which was the first time I ever had that.

I got chicken francaise which I had been craving.  Asparagus, sauteed spinach, and pasta (obviously) so much pasta.  Including ravioli.

We also ordered out and got some real damn good BBQ with ribs, smoked wings, half chicken, burnt ends and beans, cornbread and mac and cheese.

We got to go to this huge market that had alot of Mexican and Korean products and produce and I was in heaven.  I came home with:  so many beautiful mushrooms, blood oranges, big big pomegranates, korean pears, big aloe pieces, korean sweet potatoes, salted shrimps, frozen dumplings, sauces, teas, herbs, and noodles, so many different kinds of noodles!

Three huge bags full of produce alone.

A right shopping spree.

It was a whirlwind tour of eating and being dragged from place to place and going up and down and up and down the stairs to the hotel.

My legs hurt!

My stomach hurts!

I am proud of how well I was able to take  care of Myself.  Making sure to eat salads, greens, drink probiotics, ginger teas, I took baths, I soaked in lavender oils, I hydrated and drank alot of water.  I took My vitamins and took breaks and naps.

I got to play video games with My wife, watch law and Order SVU Marathons, and laugh.

I loved being able to eat so much good Italian food.  It felt healing.

I had the lovely Morgan Fey XXX

Stay at My house and watch My little kitties while I was gone.  I had a family member watch one of My chihuahuas, and I brought My smallest little boy with Me.

Everyone did well, I felt comfortable and was able to relax.  Truly a gift.

I’m sorry I didn’t take a million food pictures.  Because we weren’t eating in restaurants, and were getting takeout, I felt like it wasn’t super glamour or photo worthy to take pics of to go containers spread out all over  a hotel bed. Lol I dunno.

Aside from some photos of My family, these are the only photos I got.

Rutt’s hutt. World famous hot dogs, and home of the ripper.  Yes, I got a ripper to take home with Me!

It is STILL My birthday month!

I have been releasing a full photoset every.single.day over on My personal site: VendettaVerse.com

did you know it’s still My birthday month and it’s not too late to send Me a gift!
