I wanted to release these photos because looking at them, I know now that they were from a very important time in My life.
I had just started growing My hair out and stopped dyeing it. I. was realizing I made more money with a more “natural” look. I was getting some great modeling gigs all over the Northeast and beyond, doing. art modeling, figure modeling, art nudes for collectors and painters.
I was tanned, toned and dancing regularly. I wasn’t quite a house dancer yet in Massachusetts, but I was still feature dancing and travel dancing. Sometimes I’d find a club I liked and stay for a few weeks at a time and work, and then come back after a few weeks and have it be a semi home club but not really settled down. Strippers have a way of never settling down and making it work.
I had found this club I liked in Long Island: Blush, and their sister club Carousel and was working there for a few weeks at a time, and then going into Brooklyn to work at Pumps and into The Bronx to work at Gentlemen’s Headquarters. Real rockstar shit.
I was experimenting with what made and what didn’t and I was keeping notes on everything I did and I discovered I always seemed to make more when I was wearing neon. So I invested in some really nice neon pieces and mized and matched them and this orange/pink neon vibe sort of became My thing.
Legwarmers were already My thing, but My homegirl, and Revenge Krew model, bless her soul and may she rest in peace: Aubrey, knitted Me these pink/yellow/orange neon legwarmers.
I was in NYC for this shoot, at a friends posh apartment in manhattan. A well known movie reviewer but I won’t say who…and Ellen Stagg came to shoot these photos.
