I\u2019ve been asked so I thought I would sit down and write this out in detail!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SO far My Christmas season is going wonderfully. We\u2019ve had some icy cold weather and already lots of snow here in Western MA and I am enjoying a very wintry winter. I\u2019ve been hiking through it, watching holiday movies, decorating the hell out of My house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We got a tree the day after Thanksgiving so it\u2019s already been up for a bit. Decorated and lovely. Got garland above the entry, mistletoe balls hanging in various locations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year we did an advent calendar, that was little empty pouches that are numbered and you hang on the garland, and you can put whatever you want in them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So Brook got the even numbers and I got the odd (because I am odd) and we\u2019ve been filling them with fun things like: JOINTS, gift cards, scratch tickets, gems and stones, jewelry, ornaments for the tree and candy. It\u2019s cute and I love it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We already had a family holiday. Some of My Aunts and Uncles came over My house, and My father came into town and we cooked together. It was a bit triggering like, being back in a kitchen working with My father while he screamed at Me. BUT, the meal we made was amazing and everyone loved every bite of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The menu:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Appetizers included, baked cambert cheese with dates and ginger in phyllo dough, olives, roasted beets, pickles asparagus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My father, like an old Italian man, started a fire in the middle of the snow and then grilled some shrimps, squid and sausage and we had those for apps as well. I also made some little breaded and fried smelts. With some tangy dipping sauce. Apps were alot, but that wasn\u2019t the main course. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Main course we had hand made cavatelli, with lamb ragout, that My father and I bubbled away all day and night. The lamb was so tender and amazing and flavorful!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A side of bitter, spicy broccoli rabe, just like My Grandmother wouldv\u2019e made it, home made bread with some garlic oil, and an epic salad that included hemp seeds, homemade croutons, blueberries, goat cheese and a white wine vinaigrette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dessert was cut melon, and an assortment of fresh raspberries, cookies, chocolate and dried fruits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coffee and tea and we made homemade egg nog!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I had other cakes for dessert but everyone ate too much sooo, saving the toblerone and pannetone for actual Christmas!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, what\u2019s the menu for the holidays you ask, let\u2019s get into it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Christmas Eve I am making seafood and vegetable lasagna with a white sauce, salad, and already froze a loaf of bread My father made! For dessert it\u2019s chocolate and pannetone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Christmas Eve morning I plan to sopend on the farm, like a good New England girl! And then watching holiday movies all day in My new onesie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brook and I have a tradition of buying each other a new onesie every year and we open them on Christmas Eve. We used to also buy fancy hot chocolate and mugs for each other but we have so much we decided not to this year\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With berry cheesecake for dessert. I\u2019m also toying with the idea of making a THC dosed nilla wafer and pudding pie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Then some days of recovery and eating leftovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For New Year\u2019s Eve we plan to watch Twilight Zone and eat a bunch of bar foods\/snack foods<\/p>\n\n\n\n Including: potato skins, 7 layer dip, wings, mozzarella sticks and such.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I have been very bad at taking photos of the food but I DO post it in the stories on ig sometimes! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
